Dr. Michael Davis - Expert in sUAS Technology, International Operations, and Aeronautical Engineering. Dr. Michael Davis brings over 35 years of multifaceted experience in sUAS (small Unmanned Aircraft Systems) technology, aeronautical engineering, and international business. He is a Professor of sUAS Technology at Columbia Gorge Community College, where he imparts his expertise to a new generation of drone professionals. In addition to his academic role, Dr. Davis manages sUAS PRO and UAS AG, organizations dedicated to advancing unmanned aircraft operations and training. A Commercial Pilot with FAR 135 experience, Dr. Davis is certified for single and multi-engine aircraft and holds a Remote Pilot License. His aviation background is extensive, and his dedication to training and consulting ensures his clients receive unparalleled drone technology and operations guidance. As a National Certified Pix4D Licensed Trainer, he combines technical expertise with practical training skills, making him an invaluable resource in aerial imaging and data analytics. Dr. Davis’s professional journey has spanned several continents, including Asia, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East. He has successfully established manufacturing facilities and distribution networks across these regions, marketing electronic products in over 17 countries. His achievements in international business were recognized in 2005 with the prestigious "Marco Polo" award, underscoring his contributions to global commerce and his leadership in expanding U.S. business interests abroad. In 2008, the Washington State Governor appointed Dr. Davis to the Global Competitiveness Council, where he contributed to strategic discussions on enhancing Washington State’s position in the global market. He also served as the U.S. Representative for Turkey’s Investment Support and Promotion Agency, directly supporting the Turkish Prime Minister’s office in fostering international investment and collaboration. An innovator at heart, Dr. Davis holds patents in laser applications and drone stress monitoring devices, underscoring his commitment to technological advancements in sUAS operations.
